In Baltimore
We had a busy week getting arrangements made for repairs to our bow pulpit and now are in Baltimore visiting Dan, Andrea, Charlotte and Claire for a week. On Monday we moved the boat out of the slip we had been given and back out onto the face dock. Through much more drama than I can even go into - we had to move our boat down the dock 3 times!! Just suffice it to say this marina is not well managed and there is a very nosy woman who thinks she manages it herself…. Alice Kravitz of the marina….
Steve and Kathy came over for cocktails and dinner - it was Chinese night and they even brought a bottle of Saki. Turns out I don’t really like it…. Haha. We got packed, closed the boat up and left Tuesday morning for Baltimore. It was the trip from hell, complete with the highway being shut down for 40 minutes due to a terrible accident. As frustrating as that is, I always say I would rather be the one waiting for the road to open up and not the one who isn’t going home tonight. I think everyone waited to travel on Tuesday as we did which made it a very long, tedious drive, but we’re here.
Baltimore is having a heat wave along with much of the east coast, so it has been close to 100 degrees with humidity in the 80th percent. Exhausting! Charlotte was in her school musical last night (more of a musical revue) and that is actually what prompted our trip up here. She was very excited to have grandparents attend and we loved it. After the musical we all went out to dinner and then came home.
Today we went back to here school for an open house called “Showcase of Learning” and she was again excited to show us here desk and different things she is working on in the classroom. I got my hair cut this afternoon - I forgot to say Tom and I got our 2nd Covid boosters early this morning too. We should be covered for a few more months… Tonight was kabobs on the grill so as not to heat up the house and I think a Netflix movie may be on the agenda.
