Anchorage
We had a 4 hour trip today that ended in being anchored (we’re rafted up to Steve and Kathy) in a beautiful cove on the Alligator river. The ride got exciting when a pop-up thunderstorm hit while we were in the Pungo Canal. Luckily we were a little sheltered, but the wind picked up, we had torrential rains, lots of thunder and lightening and our visibility went down to almost zero. We quickly turned on our running lights, hit the fans inside the pilot house and Tom repeatedly had to wipe down the inside of the windshield to sort of see out. Fortunately it only lasted about 25 minutes and Madison was not a fan! She gets panicky when there is thunder so she did a bit of shaking and crying but all was well by the time we anchored.
There are 2 other boats in the cove anchored as well - both sailboats. Dinner as aboard How Sweet It Is and we will cross the Albemarle Sound tomorrow to go to Albemarle Plantation Marina.
