Short Move

We enjoyed our last day docked in downtown Beaufort before moving 2 miles down the river to Port Royal.  That marina didn’t have space for us to stay two more nights, so we had to move…

Tom and I got up early again and took Madison with us to the bagel place and then walked around the historic neighborhood where the carriage tour took us yesterday.  This time we were able to get close to the house where The Big Chill and the Great Santini were filmed and spend time looking at all the houses that we drove by.  Sigh…. So beautiful!

While Kathy did laundry I made another quick trip downtown to a shop with hand blown glass items to pick up a pair of earrings Kathy had admired for her birthday on Thursday.  Hope she’s surprised! We did some more boat washing and left the dock about noon for the short 30 minute trip to the Port Royal Landing Marina.  This is Jim’s home marina, so of course he was on the dock to help catch our lines. Once we got both boats situated, the 5 of us enjoyed a late lunch at the marina restaurant and Jim let us borrow his truck for a Walmart/liquor store run.  Dewey got a new scratching post and Madison got a new big bag of dog food! I got a few grocery items so it was a win all around.

Kathy made spaghetti and hosted dinner on her boat so we brought the wine and we all had a fun evening. Tomorrow we go to Savannah and Jim has agreed to join us, so off to bed…
