Road trip to Savannah
The five of us hit the road to Savannah about 9 am and parked at the Hop on/Hop off trolley tour office. The trolley tour drove us all around the historic neighborhoods and downtown Savannah and we did eventually hop off to have lunch at Paula Deen’s restaurant. She was a big deal to my age group before she was “cancelled” for remarks that offended some, so it was fun to eat at her restaurant. The tour guide told us she visited last week, so we just missed her…. We stayed in Savannah until mid-afternoon so I still had time to do 2 loads of laundry before having everyone over for margaritas and snacks. We were still so full from our late lunch, we decided to have cheese/crackers etc instead of a traditional dinner and it was a good decision.
Tomorrow we have a 4.5 hour trip on our way to Charleston and will stop mid-way at a $30 dock at a wholesale seafood warehouse for the night. We’ve been able to rest and relax here in Beaufort so we feel ready to push on.
