Sarasota

It was moving day! We had a beautiful ride to Sarasota and are in Marina Jacks which is a wonderful stop. The boats are huge here and we look like a bathtub toy.  LOL! Steve and Julie handled their line and fender duty like champs and Tom had Julie driving the boat for a bit in Tampa Bay.  Once we got into the GICW (Gulf Intracoastal Waterway) it was boat traffic like the interstate during rush hour.  Man, these Floridians are crazy boaters and we were rocked and rolled for over an hour by passing boats and oncoming boats.  Now I know why most loopers refuse to travel on the weekend, but we survived and tomorrow should be calmer.  We saw a couple of dolphin pods and lots of pelicans, but not too much more activity.

Madison insisted on going out onto the bow of the boat while we were underway, so I put her life jacket on her and you would have thought I put her in shackles and chains.  She moved like a snail while glaring at me as only a dog can do….  Dewey was clearly not prepared to travel yet and spent the day hiding under our comforter.

They have a fun restaurant on the marina property so we went up there for drinks and a light lunch before checking in.  Madison got a long walk with all of us and now we are ready to get some rest to do it all over again tomorrow!
