Kent Island
We arrived yesterday afternoon at Bay Bridge Marina on Kent Island in MD. We are at the foot of the Bay Bridge over to Annapolis and it is beautiful to look at. Our marina is gorgeous with all the amenities you could want, including a big, beautiful pool. We spent the rest of the afternoon yesterday doing some cleaning and maintenance and then met some friends for dinner. Ryan Silbaugh is the boat captain that took our boat from Croton on Hudson to Baltimore last fall when we were too new and inexperienced to navigate that section and I will always be grateful that we found him. We intend to keep in touch so he and his wife Anna, along with Ruby, age 2, joined us for a nice dinner outside on the patio a short 10 minute walk from our boat. It was great catching up and re-connecting.
Today was laundry day and getting the boat ready to have Daniel and his family on board for the weekend. It is graduation week at the Naval Academy in Annapolis, so we were able to see the Blue Angels perform in honor of that event. It has been partly cloudy, so we didn't have a real clear view, but it was impressive anyway.
Tom took me up to the restaurant right here at the marina for an after dinner drink and now we're all tucked in listening to it rain...
PS - my own mother texted me to correct me about our anniversary. We have been married 42 years, not 41 as I reported. What can I say - math never was my strong suit. 😏
These are some early morning photos of the Bay Bridge.
