Atlantic City

We left Cape May NJ this morning around 7 am, so we could sleep in...  LOL! As we were leaving our marina Tom noticed a sailboat that couldn't get off the dock because of the wind and tide, so on our way out we gave them a tow.  You never know what each day will bring...

This leg of the loop is best traveled outside New Jersey on the Atlantic Ocean.  I have been nervous about this segment since I'm not crazy about big water and I can't say today was my favorite... We were 3 miles off shore so I could see some land for awhile, but about 2 hours into the trip we were fogged in.  Ugh! And we got some big swells and did a lot of rolling around.

We have our new radar and boat identification system so it was not impossible to travel, just unnerving. Fortunately, you follow a GPS route already in your computer because I didn't "see" land until we were turning into the bay at Atlantic City and heading for our marina. The marina is attached to the Golden Nugget Hotel and Casino so it can be loud, but there was no live entertainment outside tonight, which was a plus!

Once we got settled in we took a shuttle to the Boardwalk and spent the afternoon cruising it on foot.  The boardwalk in Atlantic City is one of those things on my bucket list I can now check off.  It was a cross between Las Vegas and Bourbon Street in New Orleans and goes on for miles. We bought the obligatory salt water taffy and stopped for a beverage and some nachos before returning to the boat.  It will be another early morning tomorrow, so off to bed.
